Materials: stainless steel, bronze and stone

The first and the largest of five works commissioned by the coastal town of Emsworth in Hampshire to commemorate those lost in conflict from the town. The sail motif refers to the town’s boat-building history: the figure is revealed by its absence. The other 4 works are smaller versions of the large one and are sited at key points around the town.
