Michael Johnson

Material: stainless steel, bronze.

This sculpture was designed for the entrance to a nature park at the eastern end of the River Mersey on a site formerly occupied by a range of industries who contributed to the pollution of the river. The image of the enlarged grass seed head represents a new season's growth and was arrived at through working with local schoolchildren. Also involved were the canoe club, local history group and a coracle builder.
